Our ceramic pet drinking fountains are custom-made items and NOT cheap industrial mass production. They are hand made by a ceramic artist and cat lover using a porcelain texture clay, certified NON-TOXIC and food/dinnerware safe glazes. We can provide Material Safety Data Sheets for both clay and glazes. They are lead free, guaranteed.
Advantages
Big Bowl:The big bowl holds from 0.6 to 2.5 gallons of water - so can be sized for even several pets. Because of the "thermal mass" and the bowl's surface, the water always stays at a healthy room temperature. The bowl is covered by a lid, keeping the stored water in the dark and hiding pump and filter. The wide floor area relative to its height and its "floor-centered" weight keeps the fountain from being tipped over. Filter: Our fountains have two filters. The first filter is an easy to clean stainless steel mesh, catching hair, food, etc, preventing the pump from clogging. The second filter is a Drinkwell filter with a fine polyester pad and granulated carbon to catch the finer particles. The filter is well hidden in the bowl, easy to reach for you but not the pet - and simple to change. We also offer the "Forever Filter". It's a reusable filter. When it's time to change the filter, simply empty and rinse the canister, add fresh activated carbon, and return it to the fountain. Pump: Our standard pump is a 55 GPH submersible aquarium pump w/transformer. This pump runs with 4 to 12VDC and is UL listed. The transformer converts the 110V to a low voltage system, which is safe for pets. You may also opt for a battery operated pump or a 92 GPH pump with 110V and ground wire for use with a GFCI outlet. We tend to use smaller pumps because, besides moving the water, the energy the pump uses also heats the water. If your pet fountain's filter is placed behind the pump, you have to press the water through the filter, requiring a more powerful pump. This uses more energy than placing the filter in the backflow as we do with our flat filter. Using a "big" pump and a small filter behind the pump heats up the water (it's a physical law and you can feel it if you put your hand at the nozzle of the pump when you fill up your bicycle tire), so you have to install a "chiller" to cool it back down to room temperature. That's why we avoid using "big" pumps and small "inline" filters. Spout: We offer different types of spouts; bubblers like a little house or ball, free falling like the tower or stream (short fall) like the frog, lizard or flower. Our waterspouts are eye catching items, transforming your fountain into a piece of functional art. Color: You can choose the color of an existing fountain or choose from over 40 different glazes and combinations of these. All of our glazes are certified non-toxic and lead free. If you send us a sample of your wall paper or color scheme, we will match your colors. |
Our Pet Water Fountains are a great way to show your cats and dogs just how much you care. Research shows that one of the best ways to improve your pet's health is to get them to drink more water. And the best way to do that is with one of our Ceramic Pet Fountains. By using a falling stream of water, our Pet Fountains continually aerate your pet's water with healthful oxygen.
